Our Nutrition Philosophy

Nutrition Matters!

But, maybe not as much as society tells us. It's important to remember that what and how we eat can affect our health and how we feel on a daily basis, along with many other factors.

All Foods Provide Nutrition.

Every single one of them. All foods fit and can be enjoyed. The only foods one should eliminate from their diet are those with an allergic response.

Health & Weight Aren't the Same.

Behavior changes can improve health regardless of what happens on the scale. People can learn to tune into their bodies to determine what, when, and how much to eat.

You Are Unique.

Food choices are also unique. What works well for one person may not work for another. Bodies come in all shapes and sizes; this diversity should be celebrated.

Dieting Does Not Work.

Dieting (restriction for the goal of intentional weight loss) does not work and is one of the leading predictors of eating disorders and subsequent weight gain.

Eat Enough, Always.

Avoid eating too little. Your body always deserves nourishment. You are the expert of your body. You know your body best. We trust you.

What's an RD/N, LD?

When you meet with a Registered, Licensed Dietitian and Nutritionist (RD/N, LD), you know you are meeting with a nutrition expert.

An RD/N, LD is a professional who has studied diet and nutrition at an approved college or university, completed a supervised 6-12 month practice program, passed an exam, and obtains required continuing education to maintain their RD/N, LD status.
